Imposing import restrictions on selected goods is one of the steps taken by the Government of Sri Lanka. Such import restrictions were first experienced in Sri Lanka during the SLFP government in the 1970s. Freezing Free Media Nothing is so frightening for a ruler, who is extremely corrupt and lacks transparency, than the free media in a country. The ruling party of a country has always followed a double standard with regard to the media. It is the practice of the present government as well as previous governments to give financial and various sponsorship to the pro-ruling party media and to cripple and destroy the independent media institutions that expose government corruption and irregularities. Online teaching Online teaching, though not a new strategy in tertiary education has become a widely used new mode of teaching strategy today in Sri Lankan schools.
